Add a Patient to Healthbridge Clinical

What: The form used to create a new patient record, capturing their identity, contact, and medical aid details.

Why: Every patient needs a file before you can book them, consult with them, or bill for their visit.

When: The first time a new patient visits your practice.

Steps

1. Click the 'Add Patient' icon

Location: Top navigation bar, next to your name

From any screen, click the Add Patient icon (a person with a plus sign) in the top-right corner of the navigation bar, next to your name.

2. Review the patient details form

Location: Patient details, Account & Medical aid form

A blank 'Patient details, Account & Medical aid' form opens. Choose 'Passport no.' or 'South African ID no.' to match the identification you have, then work through the fields: title, name and surname, date of birth, sex, contact details, and address.

3. Fill in the required details and click 'Save'

Location: Patient details, Account & Medical aid form

Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required, at minimum, Name, Surname, Date of Birth, and sex. If the patient has medical aid, toggle 'Medical Aid' and fill in the scheme, plan, option, and membership number under 'Patient medical aid detail'; otherwise toggle 'Cash'. Once everything is filled in, click the orange 'Save' button in the top-right corner.

You should see: the patient's new file opens on their Patient Overview, ready for you to add conditions, book a consult, or check them in.
Note: If the patient is a dependant on someone else's medical aid, fill in the Main Member Details section further down the form so their account links correctly to the main member.
